Electric Or Acoustic

Which one to start on?

When deciding on what type of guitar to start on it is important to first think about what kind of music you listen to and want to play. If you mostly listen to and like acoustic music it is an easy decision acoustic guitar. Same goes for Electric if you were into Metal bands and Classic Rock. Say you like a variety of music like most people the decision gets a little more difficult. There is so much misguided advise that understanding the differences will definitely help making the right choice. The cost is not so much an issue as there are very affordable entry points for both. Electric may cost a little more but not enough for it to make a difference. The acoustic is a simple set up nothing else needed just a tuner. With Electric you will want to get an amplifier, tuner and instrument cable. The old saying you should start on acoustic first is not true. The Electric guitar if set up properly should be easier to play and will be kinder to your fingers. The Electric will also have more sounds to choose from. You can play it clean or with distortion and get the Black Sabbath sound. It is a very subjective and personal decision. Both are great to start on. The important thing is getting started you will probably end up having both in the future. I hoped this helped and happy woodshedding on which ever one you choose.
